Mellotronists

fellow list member gino and i made the drive down to atlantic
city to see their rendition of "the lamb tour" at trump taj mahal.

aside from the drunk assh*les [they kept serving alcohol all
during the show!] and the lack of an actual mellotron, it was
a damn fine show. only the pickiest of nit-pickers would complain
about the sounds not actually being a tron [it didn't even really
especially sound like tron samples, or maybe it was one of the badly
sampled "vintage keys" type modules/plugin cards?].

as an encore they did "a musical box" and "watcher of the skies".
hmmm... wonder what that intro to "watcher"was done with? ;0)

if anyone gets a chance to see them [sans alcohol] i would surely
recommend  it. they are all fine musicians and have copped the sounds and
performance to a "t". just too many drunk idiots whooping and hollaring
and stomping their feet off beat [apparently an odd time signature is
capable of inducing almost seizure-like behavior in the alcohol impaired]
to totally enjoy the experience.

Sounds like a few Dead shows I've been to!  Especially 
during "Estimated Prophet"!  (Guess that's why most of the 
crowd "twirled" instead.)
