PFM will be performing here in Toronto at the Phoenix concert theatre.
Anyone have an idea of what they sound like these days?
I love their early stuff, but I thought their stuff around 79 or 80 was dubious.

Saw 'em in London a couple of years ago, and they were stunning. Apart from one cruddy '80-ish no.(Suonare Suonare), it was wall-to-wall classics the whole evening. Miss at your peril.

Flavio Premoli was touring with a 'tron in 2002.

Looks like he is currently using a Yamaha sampler.

PFM will be performing at the NEARfest Friday night preshow in early July with Protokaw. I will be there with three Trons (one of them , the famous "formicatron," is being provided by our own Jimmy Moore) and an assortment of tape frames for Saturday's opening act, Wobbler. If they want to stage one, I would be happy to accommodate them.

Well, when I offered the use of #1145 two years ago in London, it was politely declined. They hired in a Hammond and a MiniMoog, with a digital piano and generic keyboard for strings etc.

So, who has their Mark II now? Or, is it just in mothballs or permanently residing in one of their home studios somewhere?

According to a recent email exchange with Virginia Scott of Beggar's Opera: "The tron I used on Waters of Change (Mk2) was bought by PFM back in 1971. I did contact them a few years ago to find out if they still had it...sadly it was disposed of." No idea of an operational definition of "disposed of" (trashed? sold? converted to coffee/end tables?)
