As I recall, Barclay James Harvest resolved the problem of getting a Mark  II 
down a flight of stairs by just shoving it. Quick, effective and easy on the  
back.
 
Oh, by the way the way, your idea has equal merit.

PS. I have a walk-out basement and a climate controlled music room. I can  
get my Hammond A -100 and all my little 400s in and out without a problem. Jim  
is always welcome to store his machine at my place and I'll play whatever he  
want's me to over the phone.
