Tony Mansfield's mid 70's band "Reeman Zeegus" had a Mellotronist
(Paul Tattersall). Tony went on to produce some unique material...
(New Musik, Naked Eyes, Captain Sensible).

New Musik - From A to B was probably one of the first recordings that
showed off the Prophet 5. Tony and keyboardist Clive Gates did some
outrageous things in the studio. (Recall the thick synth string /
brass bits, the Korg sonar bleeps and the Eventide Harmoniser vocal
effects).

Quoting Fritz "You are never as outrageous as you think you are.
When going for an effect, make yourself nervous".

See Clive Gates interview for an explanation of "World of Water"
vocal effect.

the New Musik discs (From A to B, Anywhere, Warp)

The "Anywhere" recording is good pop material and good for testing a
sub-woofer. (Lots of low frequency synth).

"Warp" is __________ ? Hard to describe. Too wierd for me!

After a quick Google search, I strongly suspect they never recorded. I have, though, found an equipment hire company, originally based in south London, as were New Musik, co-run by one Paul Tattersall. Plenty of vintage kit, but no 'Tron. Actually, several odd 'misses', with no Hammonds or MiniMoog either.

What a great album that was!
innovative, and very much 'of its time' but splendid nonetheless

Doesn't do it for me either!

New Musik were on GTO records and were signed by Safta Jaffery, who
publishes our stuff now...... I think he probably did a better job for
them.
