"Professional Pianist" In Cool Promo Video

"Professional Pianist" In Cool Promo Video

2004-10-18 by mellotrongirl

The Mk2 must be quite a responsive machine. When I saw the guy rake
down the keys on the right keyboard with the back of his fingers, my
heart nearly stopped. Let's see him try rapidfire ragtime on a M-400
and attempt to beat key attack.

You can do it on an Optigan, but the racket from all the rebounding
plastic keys would drown out the golden lo-fi sound...and I certainly
wouldn't want that.

Excellent find, btw; really made my day. Kudos.

I'd like to see vintage footage of three people on the three-arse
bench jamming away gleefully in the family living room, the sounds
reminding one of Wonderwall spiraling out of control.

It's certainly more responsive than a 400. Martinge's lovely old Mk1
can be played like a Hammond, the key weighting is so light. I think
the geometry is different. The Tronbros can enlighten us I'm sure.

I must say I'm underwhelmed by the lack of response from you lot in
purchasing the Sundae Club album which features just that very machine
as well as our own 400. Bernie's bought it, so has Jimmy. (Thanks
guys!!) Maybe they can give an honest appraisal of it and either
recommend it to you or warn you to steer clear and buy a very long
barge-pole. On the other hand, you could click on one of the numerous
links below and take a listen. It's selling rather well, but ironically
not to the people on this forum!!
