Do you have a Will?

Do you have a Will?

2004-04-07 by ceccles_ca

I am working on my Will today. Fun job! I was wondering if any of
you old farts have made provisions for your Mellotron. I have a
large, environmentally controlled room here, and I promise that I
will take very good care of her.
(They are all female by the way, high maintenance!).

Under "Distribution of Estate Assets" - "Bequests" Just put Mellotron
serial #____, Beneficiary: Clay Eccles. I would be happy to help you
with the paperwork.

...Which reminds me of a story I heard some years back from an American
friend who's a bit of a name on the obscure metal scene (!). The leader of a
little-known band from Backofbeyondsville, US, died, and was allegedly
buried with the remaining copies of his band's stupidly collectable album.
Two collectors were *apparently* all for exhuming him to retrieve the rare
vinyl (do they know nothing about bodily fluids?), although I believe it
never happened. For which we should all be truly grateful.

I am to be a father any day now and I have decided to raise my child to
appreciate the Mellotron from the get go. Lullabies played on the tron,
prog rock played around the house constantly. I thought about it being
used as a changing table but maybe that would be too dangerous. (no
Formica on mine, but if it did...)Will Streetly be able to provide parts
and service to my kid 50 years from now? Yeah, I plan to live a long
time.

That would suck. Really, the closest thing to
immortality - a rare (collectible) record - and they
bury it with him!

I'm going to be buried in my pinball machine.
