Watcher of the skies intro.

Watcher of the skies intro.

2004-03-23 by Mattias Olsson

Sorry... ( Andy....forgive me....)
...but I am sick to death hearing both the question and answer concerning the intro to watcher of the skies... Maybe I am way off now but couldn´t a solution be a FAQ or a space on a site with a video snippet of someone of playing those 16 bars on a Mark II exactly demonstrating how it´s done ? Or a separate introtothewatcheroftheskiesisitreallybassaccordion?list@yahoogroups.com altogether.
I am sorry but the intro to watcher of the skies seems to be a massive trauma for everyone on this list and I would just like to see it resolved as soon as possible....or it might just be a very cold grey day in Stockholm.

Mattias may be in a particularly grumpy mood, but he does have a point. It seems to be the first question most newcomers ask, and as Mr.Olsson points out, there still seems to be a little dissent over it. Is a FAQ a possibility? I could host it, if people are interested in contributing.

p.s. Did Fritz use a Leslie 122 or 147? :-)

I heard from a down-at-the-heels tinker whom I once met on the streets
of Lower-Upper Blithbury near Rugely, that if you play the intro
backwards by the light of the full moon when it falls on Midsummer's
Eve, that the resulting music sounds just like Seiks eht fo Rehctaw,
which as everyone knows is an ancient Celtic phrase (I think it's
Cornish) meaning "Don't take silly things in life too seriously".

More importantly, doing the above will supposedly magically cause the
mixed brass/3 violin sound suddenly and forever TO PLAY PERFECTLY IN
TUNE even when your mellotron is not turned on! (Martinge swears this
is true.) It's the reason he and JB drag their Mk I's down to the Twat
and Handbag, located in the heart of Lower-upper Blithbury near Rugely,
every Midsummer's Eve -- although I think it's because the publicans at
this fine drinking establishment offer free pints to anyone who brings
in a dual keyboard tape replay organ on that particular evening.

We should all get together on the coming Midsummer's Eve at Colins
place to stage a mass play-in to see if it works. What do you think?

Rick

Fine by me, though if anyone wants a few free pints they're welcome to
nail his/her M400 to mine and help me lug it down to the saloon Bar of
the Twat 'n' Handbag.

I'm game for that too.

Is that 'cat as in animal or 'cat' as in Keith Richard?
