A Couple Of Things...

A Couple Of Things...

Greetings, All...

Mike... John... Martin... Thanks for the "Russian Orthodox Choir"... as
Mike so aptly put it... This sound IS an ABSOLUTE MONSTER!!! As far as
I'm concerned... this is THE "choir" sound!!! It's been said that the
Russian Orthodox church has the finest choirs around... one of the
reasons being that the Russian Orthodox church forbids the use of
musical instruments ... so the choirs sing acappella exclusively... so
they're able to achieve that glorious balance, and superb timbre all of
the time... and your tape proves it! Would you mind telling us how, and
where you got your samples... and if there was any vocal / recording
"tricks" involved? Curious minds (mine) would like to know.

Concerning the Tokyo Mellotron Studio... I have just one favor to ask
Mr. Ryo Sekine... Do you think you could leave me one of each kind of
Mellotron in your will??? I think your collection of 'Trons has to be
the worlds biggest! Great website by the way... I enjoyed perusing
through it... even though I couldn't read it... any chance of an English
translation in the future??? Anyway Mr. Sekine... concerning my request
... I'm not greedy... really I'm not... it would make me very happy to
receive one of each kind of 'Tron from you... I don't care what you've
heard... I'm not greedy... really... think of the enjoyment it would
give me... ah heck... it was worth a try... ;^))

J.P. ... I'm NOT greedy.... really... it's true!

Hi Guys and Gals...
A quick correction... The posters, that I had Mike Pinder sign... was for his CD: "Planet With One Mind"... sorry 'bout that... I was listening to "People With One Heart", when I typed the last post..."Wali-Dad" I believe...
Speaking about Mike, that reminds me... back in the '90s, Dave Kean released a tech video on the Mellotron, hosted by Mike Pinder. Markus... is this video still available? If not... is there any chance that it could be re-released on DVD?
One more subject... the last time I was in my local music store, I spotted a sample CD for "Reason" called "Mello-T". Does anyone know anything about this... or has anyone used it? I'm wondering how good the samples are... and how useful this CD is.
That's it... Be Seeing You...
J.P.
MicroTron 001... "Happy Holidays To All... And To All, A Good Night (in White Satin...)!"

Sorry to burst your bubble but that video you're referring to ("The Workings") only has Dave Kean / and what you could call the "Moses Lake" group on it.
Mike Pinder does not appear anywhere in that video.
Dave however, did resemble Mike Pinder ( circa 1972 receding hairline/beard) so perhaps that's the source of confusion.
