Japanese tron site

2002-02-21 by hirofumi takamiya

Hi
I am taka.
The other day, it was the manager of Japanese Mellotron site which Mr.David
introduced.
It does its best so that it can have everyone enjoy it though it is little
information.
The history of Mellotron, literature, the sound source, the introduction of
the video materials
A Mellotron photograph is inserted in many.
Of course, the collection of Mr. RyoSekine is contained, too.
He is Japanese Mellotron Collecter of the Italian residence.
Come and see my site

Cool site Taka!

But who are the two wankers standing with Ryo Sekine in back of the Mark II
in the "video and more" section?

hi all...

the mellotron site in japan seems to have caused a lot of drooling.

fwiw: i can speak and read quite a bit of japanese, but i am by no
means anywhere near fluent.
i spent 2 weeks travelling around japan in december of 1999.
(from tokyo to fuji-san to fukuoka to kagoshima to kirishima to
okinawa and eventually back to tokyo) [see my website for travelogue]
i do still have a couple friends in the tokyo area that i may be
able to enlist some help from, one of whom speaks english better
than many americans i know, the other barely speaks english at all.

japanese is a very complex language (with 3 distinct alphabets).
in SOME ways it is simpler than western "latin-type" languages,
but for the most part it is seriously difficult.

a project like translating a web site is a HUGE undertaking however.
one that would take many many hours that i just don't have right now.

a first step for everyone is to install japanese language support
on your computer. it's a fairly simple process for all versions
of windows since 95, but i do not know about mac support.
by installing the proper support you actually see these sites
the way they were meant to be seen, even if it all looks only
a little better than the gibberish you may be seeing now, it is
at least the "proper" view of the page.

maybe i could work with takamiya-san to get parts of it done from
time to time, but i can't really make a major commitment timewise.
if someone has specific questions, please feel free to ask.
it may be a few days to get to them, but i will attempt to do
my best to provide as much as i can.

sore dewa (until then),
jeff

btw: if anyone ever has an opportunity to travel there... DO IT!
it is safe, clean, and very friendly. (but also VERY expensive!)
i hope to move there someday soon, and live there forever!
