When did "Selling England by the Pound" drop? I haven't heard the
original in ages, but isn't there 8-voice on a couple of cuts?
Was "Six Wives of Henry VIII" released before "Tales From Topographic
Oceans" or after it? How about "Hero and Heroine" by the Strawbs? I
don't remember the dates, but these were the earliest appearances I
can remember, and I used to wear my albums out by lifting and
dropping the needle over and over on all of the cool keyboard bits.

Both The six wives of Henry the 8th and Tales from Topographic Oceans were
released in 1973. Selling England by the pound came out in 1974 as was the
Strawbs Hero and Heroine.

The Genesis track Visions of Angels has lots of 'tron choir.
Trespass was released in 1970 I think. I don't recall any choir on
Nursery Cryme. There's the bit at the end of Supper's Ready, and of
course choir is used beautifully on Selling England.

Are you sure that's 'tron choir on TRESPASS?

I thought it was generally just the choir-boy amassedness of
Mssrs. Anthony Phillips, Anthony Banks and Michael "Ruther"ford.
And their beards.

(the 'tron choir didn't sound so Home Counties ;-)

Sorry, Clay - they were using a Mark II, and did right up through 'Live'.

Again, Mark II.

and of course choir is used beautifully on Selling England.

Certainly is!

'Selling England' was actually Oct.'73, 2 months before 'Tales', according
to Martin C.Strong's 'The Great Rock Discography' - a work of utter,
unbridled lunacy/genius. And I thought *I* was obsessive... :-)

Oct.'73.

'Dancing With the Moonlit Knight', 'Firsth of Fifth' and 'Cinema Show', I
think.

Well before.

How about "Hero and Heroine" by the Strawbs?

Following year.
