Mellotronists

My only experience with Robert Fripp was at a hotel after a concert 
that my friends and I were invited to(after that Akron show) and we 
had just boarded an elevator to go to the party room when Fripp came 
on dressed in a suit with  a briefcase.He smiled and said.."Good 
evening" and we all reciprocated. We got to the room(right next to 
the band's)and Fripp knocked on the door. A young lady answered and 
proceeded to tell him he couldn't come in because she didn't know 
him.Bruford and Wetton were inside and yelled..."Aw he's okay,he's 
with us". Fripp turned and looked at us with a priceless expression 
and just shook his head.:)

OK, so he was human at one time. Perhaps he's evolved. Many "musicians" 
evolve int A-holes. Many of them also resume their humanity at some point.

I don't know Fripp so I won't try to judge him. However, Charles, the reports 
on his behavior lately haven't been kind.

As I recall, I was much more tolerant in my youth. Perhaps, around the time I 
get fitted for my first pair of Depends, I will resume my youthful tolerance 
(probably not). Pity the nurse (because the wife has already told me she'll 
shoot me before she'll powder my sorry ass.)

Ah, Fripp bashing :-)

I met Fripp years ago on several guitar craft courses. Believe me: he was
one of the nicest, warmest, funniest, and most remarkable people I ever met
in my life. Apparently he behaves differently when approached by "fans" who
actually want something from him in an offensive way. He has explained his
behaviour towards those people several times in his online diary, for those
who are really interested.

Even if his behaviour might appear strange at times, I wonder why people
can't just accept and respect his reasons without judging him.
