Johnny Cash

2003-12-15 by tron@blackcat.demon.co.uk

I've not been following every post on this mailing list for a hile, but
has anyone else noticed Johnny Cash's recording of 'Bridge Over Troubled
Waters' on 'American IV'? Mellotron flutes, strings and choir abound.

Incredibly - given the above - the most out of tune thing on the song is
his daughter's singing.

Also Chamberlin on his stunning version of Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt' from
Roger Manning. Chamby on 'American II', too. You wouldn't exactly describe
me as a country fan (!), but Cash absolutely transcended the genre. And I
said that before he died. Two excellent albums - 'I Hung My Head' on 'IV'
moved me to tears.
