"I have the exact (VINTAGE MELLOTRON M 400 MOOG ARP AN) that you are
bidding on in my private stock, but for a better price."

-------YIKES! That is so wrong in so many ways it's amazing. I
wouldn't bid five cents for that poor thing unless it was delivered
to my door, COD, and I had the chance to inspect and test it before
paying for it. What problems could possibly arise from ordering
through some schmuck with an already evident lack of scruples, having
no way of verifying said schmuck's real identity and particulars, or
the legality of provenance of the instrument, huh?

And where was this “private stock” warehoused? In some shack in Afghanistan? Yeah, that’s the first place I would store a group of Mellotrons. As far as I am concerned, I hope that the idiots fall for this. As like other EBay scams, it’s all a part of Darwin’s theory…

Actually, I'm probably going to bid on it as I am going to have a BUNCH of spare cash quite soon.  I just got a private and confidential email from the wife of a high government official in a country in Africa (which I'm not going to divulge here) asking for my help, for which I will be very well compensated, in transferring a large amount of money from their account in Africa to the United States so it doesn't fall into the hands of terrorists.  Ha, ha, suckers, I'll be driving a Bentley soon!

Hey, now that just ain't fair - I'M expecting a bit of a windfall
too..................

I think she might sleep, I meam schmuk, around 'cos I've had a confidential
mail too. Probably a different African
country though. That would explain it.

Ah well, that proves my email is true because I will be getting a large
compensation for looking after money that would otherwise fall into the
hands of unscrupulous opposition politicians.

Aren't these people so wonderfully socialist and philanthropic in their
outlook?

What? Bentley? You're the sucker, I've just bid and got a Rolls Royce
Silver Gross on ebay.
OK, it's LHD and has to be shipped in parts by DHL, but what the hell? I'm
getting a Roller -
Stroll on all of y'use................

So, the "Mark I" Mellotron has been de-listed as no longer available, and M400 #319 on eBay sold for $1800 to the same person that bought the last one for $3400 - they've now bought two M400 models in the last couple of weeks for $5K.  Anybody on this list?  If so, would you like to adopt a son?
