I bid on the Hoboken (a few miles from home) 'tron currently on eBay and got this e-mail:

I appolagise for this email but I wanted to let you know that my username on ebay is mm1778 and I am a verrifyed eBay customer. My feedback rating is 52 all from different users. I am now sending you this email to inform you that I have the exact (VINTAGE MELLOTRON M 400 MOOG ARP AN) that you are bidding on in my private stock, but for a better price. Since */I am buying them myself from a warehouse of consumer electronics located in the Czech Republic/ *and they offer these products at the factory price plus a small commision, I can also offer it to you at 1870 USD .
The shipping tax would be on my charge, and it would be sent with the UPS service. The payment method will give you the secure you need regarding this deal.

this is against the rules of ebay, and may explain why the account
was suspended. they don't take kindly to serving as an "advertising
agent" in transactions, which is, in effect, the end result of this
sort of practice.

I'd be a "terrifyed eBay customer" after reading this!

Avoid (unless you can go pick it up personally, in a public place, in an
armored vehicle, with a small platoon of Marines).

Very fishy.
