Secret passion for Hammonds

Secret passion for Hammonds

2003-07-26 by mellotrongirl

I see the connection even tho' off-topic from the Mellotron
discussion, as Hammonds are many times the foundation for jazz,
blues, jam-rock and progressive bands. Thanks for the website link.
I would think that hammond.com, hammondorgan.com or variations of
that would bring up a website but hammond-suzuki?!? (ho-layyy...!)

So wow--The Beast is back in production?!! And the spotlight on Joey
DeFrancesco...totally justified! The disc he did a few years ago on
Concord with Jimy Smith, titled "Incredible!" is a must-have
firebrand full-throttle B-3 workout done live in San Francisco.
Amazing these two giants didn't crowd each other out but instead was
the perfect marriage. Plenty of gyro Leslie action, too! While
you're at it, pick up Joey's "Live At The 5 Spot" NYC disc on
Columbia, too.

Interesting to note Hammond himself was not a musician/keyboard
player.
