Schematics and/or wiring diagrams

Schematics and/or wiring diagrams

2003-07-23 by jamierob54

As I mentioned in a previous post, I just finished pulling everything
out of my recently acquired M400 #380. While the cabinet is being
refinished, I thought I'd go through all of the electrical and
mechanical components.

When I got the instrument, it came with nothing other than the power
cord. No documentation or manuals of any kind. Can someone tell me
what's out there in the way of schematics and/or wiring diagrams?
I've seen mention of this kind of documentation on some of the recent
eBay auctions, so I assume that there is something "official", but
I'd even be interested in owner-generated diagrams.

Specifically, are there schmatics available of the power supply or
motor controller? What documentation came with the original
instrument?

Thanks,

-Jamie Robertson

You can buy a service manual from www.mellotron.com which has schematics.
However when I used them to fix my preamp i found the schematic i needed
had several errors.

There is also a Owners Manual which, I assume by the name, must have come
with the unit. It also has some block diagrams and schematics and is
worth having if you can track one down. I bought a copy on ebay (i just
didn't think the guy meant a PHOTOcopy).

Dave Kean / Mellotron Archives has a very nice service manual
available; I recommend it highly. I also recommend getting his two
videotapes.

Hi Don- I've wondered about the M.A. tapes. So, they are worth the $$$?
Are these tapes very technical? With the titles being "the sounds" and
"the workings", I figured them to be pretty much an introductory video
to trons and not very in depth technically. Am I wrong on this?

Hey, were pretty much neighbors!

I recommend both tapes very highly. They're a little dated, you won't
see a high budget slick production (that's for sure!), but they're
packed with information, technical and otherwise.
