Yes...indeed....I did buy one.I LOVE it,nice fat warm analog
sounds...dozens of filters,efx,16 separate arpeggiators,nice feeling
keyboard and retro style knobs. The tron sounds are good for the most
part, this unit even has tron brass(tho it's a bit thin and stretched)
that sounds better mixed with violins a/la Watcher Of The Skies
mix.The tron stuff should be played in the same key range(35 notes)
to sound authentic. Some nice split keyboard combis can be set up and
panned for cool MK2 simulations.I set up a layer of tron violins with
Solina strings an octave below for a nice approximation of tron
string section tape. There is a filter with the vowel sound"EEEEEE"
which I added to the male choir and it transformed the sound into
something very close to Ligeti's monolith music from the movie
2001.:) The tron waves are : 3 violins,flute,male choir,female
choir, mixed choir, brass.I have barely scratched surface with the
programming possibilities. I still think the E4K with the Pinder CD
rom sounds better of course. But for under 600 bucks US this is a
great little synth. It also has
Moog,Arp,Hammonds,CP70,Rhodes,Clavs,Wurlis,OBs,Vox,Elka,Solina,etc.
and many many more waves. Charles

$600 eh? Nice price! That sounds it could be the next keyboard I buy.
(I have an long-standing appointment with a new guitar later this summer).
For the money it appears to be a lot of synth.
