Hello again! I was watching a film called Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), earlier this week and noticed that some of the music contained some tron, strings and choir. It was hard to hear for definite due to the TV sound etc, but I'd say the choir was a definite!! Best wishes Philip

Definitely choirs on this one - I've got it on video somewhere, and keep meaning to record the music bits onto my PC, although the hiss will be appalling. Did it with my mate's vid of the original 'Grizzly Adams' film - stuffed full of 'Tron violins. Andy T. Another fine 'tron drenched soundtrack is Good Guys Wear Black (1978) starring Chuck Norris. Some particularly pensive 3 violin/minimoog bass moments. Touchingly dry. If there was a negative reverb effect available, it was likely used in this film to suck out any available 'verb. more film/soundtrack appearances:
"The Virgin Suicides" - performed by Air, also used in Levi's commercials
"Buffalo 66" - Vincent Gallo made "Heart of the Sunrise" and "Moonchild" integral parts of the movie soundtrack.

'The Virgin Suicides' is, of course, available, unlike 'Picnic at Hanging Rock', apart from the pan flutes piece on a various artists 'film music' compilation in Austalia. I know - I asked everywhere!Andy T.

Neat! I had forgot about the Grizzly Adams theme song.. Where can I hear a copy of that... I think opening video to was of "tron" quality... --- In Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com, "Andy Thompson" <andy.thompson@v...> wrote: > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Philip [mailto:philipjamesjohnston@y...] > Sent: 19 June 2003 17:03 > To: Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Mellotronists] Tron soundtrack appearance spotted! > > > Hello again! > > I was watching a film called Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), earlier > this week and noticed that some of the music contained some tron, > strings and choir. > > It was hard to hear for definite due to the TV sound etc, but I'd say > the choir was a definite!! > > > Definitely choirs on this one - I've got it on video somewhere, and keep > meaning to record the music bits onto my PC, although the hiss will be > appalling. Here is where you can hear the Grizzly Adams theme song. "Maybe" On one of the pages you can download a better quality version. http://www.grizzlyadams.net/index.html The song was so popular that in Germany in 1974 it reached #1 for 9 weeks! I guess there is a longer version somewhere. The mellotron is a little over saturated. Let me know what you think..
