MKII Prices

2003-05-04 by David Jacques

I am curious what the value is on a working MKII, MKV, and 400. What is
the resale range of these instruments?

(Or the price of any model used Mellotron)

I catch the sense of apprehension of divulging the current value of
the beloved instruments within our Group--lest we drive up the price
for someone wanting a good solid unit, or do some other unforseen
unduly damage... As uncommon as these puppies are, I doubt the price
variations are regional (I'd like to see one offered on eBay in
Barrow, AK "pick-up only"). Streetly or Kean's crew ought to
interject at this point. A sticky question we'd all like to know, but
(ahem). I wonder if it's published in some *antiques roadshow* price
guide list--which would be about as believeable as those dumb rare
records pricing catalogues, or Monica Lewinsky spending a quiet
evening at home.
