Hi folks!
If this is the MkVI I saw on a visit down to NYC about 3 years ago, be
very careful if you want to bid. Ask if the seller owns a recording
studio (I think it was on the West Side somewhere in the 30s). This
particular unit looked to me as if it had shifted inside during transit
from California with the result that the frame is probably not "square"
anymore. I played it for about 1/2 hour and found that it needed a lot
of adjustment. Since the person who owned it was not around, the
assistant wouldn't let me do more than take off the keyboard, so I
really can't be sure what was wrong, but all symptoms led me to believe
that the less-than-perfect performance was due to an out of alignment
frame. I don't know how hard this would be to fix yourself, but Markus
or the Tron Brothers could advise you,
The machine itself was cosmetically very nice.
Rick, MkII SFX 10030 (Cosmetically very nice, too, except that it's got
Martinge's fingerprints all over it...)
