Sampling new tron sounds

Sampling new tron sounds

2002-12-30 by fdoddy@aol.com

Hi folks,
   I agree with Rick on this issue. No one can prevent sampling of tron sounds, but to me the proper procedure would be to ask Streetly electronics if they sell digital versions of the newer library sounds. Since they are the suppliers of the analog versions, it would make sense that they control the distribution of any digital versions. This is their livelihood!

Well Norm;
Is there a digital version coming out there? Also, are you saying Dave and Mike Pinders CD on Mellotron Archives, sucks? Just asking.

Rich,

I don't know but I would suspect it is unlikely.

I am not saying that that the Mellotron Archives CD sucks at all, I haven't
heard it and I will not condemn or recommend anything I haven't had personal
experience of.

It is my experience that a sampled 'tron can be close but there is something
'not quite right' about the sampled version. This also holds true for
Fairlights, the Mellotron tapes of the Fairlight are still the closest thing
to a real one, odd but true...

All the best,
Norm
