Screw off. Memontrons are for sissies. Mellotrons are reliable. Many of the people that have owned them are not.

seriously i went to a recording studio in parsippany i think it was and this guy brought it with him, with the ease of a menu he could blend sad strings with flutes, cello, then change his mind and load vox humana instead.  the thing was amazing, weighed 40 lb, size of a 1980's yamaha keyboard.  Memotron is the name of the unit had control knobs just like the original, even had reverb which the other didnt.  he told me he imported all the sounds from m-tron software so he had a bank of 100+ sounds ever made even had novatron or birotron  forget which one it was.

im sorry to piss you off...   but i'm part of the ipod generation.  there is reason why cassette tapes, 8-track, reel-to-reel, vhs, etc. all died as a format.  digital is the way to go.

Good, it's settled then. This is a group devoted to Mellotrons, not iPods or Memotrons

Go away.

So that's why you are whining about a Memotron. You can't afford the real deal. Waaaaaaa!

I think it was Fritz a while back who was lamenting how the visual media (movies, etc.) keep expanding on quality and clarity while audio media (music, etc.) keeps squeezing the life out of the quality by sampling and smashing things down --- There’s also a reason that so much of what has been sliced, diced and regurgitated from digital instruments is from real instruments, like a multiple-ton pipe organ that can’t slip into your “hip” pocket. Have you listened to a direct-to-disk recording on a good turntable with decent speakers? No tape shadow – and no digital clip.…. “ipod generation&#
