I should have sent this sooner, might
have shed some light on the issue...

(Fairly funny!)
Not really- just the usual smart ass stuff you expect from
someone who hasn't got the point.
And no, I'm not being a miserable git -many years ago a review of
the first U.K. album was dismissed in a similar way 'what these guys
don't realise that it's not clever to rock out in 11/8 -it's
impossible'
Which of course is nonsense. You can rock out in any time
signature you like.
Indian musicians have been doing it for centuries (any of Ravi
Shankar's table players can run rings around Western players in
polyrhythms, and jazz musos have been experimenting with different
time signatures for decades.
If it works and it swings, who cares what the time signature
is?
There are only two types of music -good and bad -and that
includes prog! Just like you can have good and bad reggae, HM,
classical and whatever you care to mention.
'You kill what you fear, and you fear what you don't understand'
(a certain well known former prog band)
And if you can't kill it off, you take the piss wherever
possible.
Dave.
