Mellotronists

It is true that Keith Moon was a great fan of surf music - hence the
inclusion of Little Deuce Coupe on one of the Who EP's (remember
them?). Also, Keith named The Ventures In Space as one of his
favourite albums of all time, and that Waikiki Run (by the Surfaris)
gretly influenced the Who's The Ox. On the subject of the Surfaris,
Terry Gilliam's segment of the 1999 Monty Python Anniversary Special on
BBC2 used Point Panic as its background music so perhaps he's a fan too.
I greatly agree that music does not need lyrics - as someone once said,
you can better appreciate the beauty of the melody when you aren't
being distracted by the words.
Also as a musician, I find singers the most irritationg people on God's
earth. All the ones I've ever worked with have been the most
appallingprima donnas. They always think they're the star, and
everyone else is just the backing group. Hang 'em all, I say.

A fine instrumental album reminiscent of the Tornado's Telstar (which
they covered on another album) with space-age sounds that were
produced by "traditional" instruments (non-synthesizer). I'm still
trying to decipher what some of those instruments were.
