At 00:53 you can see the flywheel..(on the left side of this thing -
so I guess it is not a M400).

I have the Chamberlin steel guitar on one of my M400 tapes and it is truly an amazing sound...A bit of spring reverb and then out through an amp...Wonderful !

Okay, I've harped on this before, but...

You've probably heard this guitar sound before. Check out Leon Russell's
original version of This Masquerade. It has a gorgeous instrumental
introduction that is all Chamberlin - this sound plus vibes and strings.
The song also has prominent flutes. The whole album (Carney, from 1972)
is loaded with Chamberlin.

No, apparently most of them were done throughout the 50's! The heavy vibrato was characteristic of big bands and jazz.
