Fw: [Mellotronists] Mellotron dominated recordings

Correct Jeff after looking into it I was surprised at how many composers past and present who's works were used in that fine production.
Thanks for the clarification!

just to clear things up...
MOST of the music from cosmos is/was indeed vangelis, but not all of it,
and i would just say perhaps a slight majority. and the vangelis that was
used came from his existing catalogue - it was not composed FOR the series...
i know some heldon was used, some eno, and i think some teddy lasry, plus
some things that i probably just can't recall at the moment.

i did watch the entire series about 6 months ago after renting it via netflix.

aha - someone has done ALL the homework for us:

i think that the impression is an easy one to be left with,
and one can only credit that to the brilliant use of music
in the series. i recall during the intial broadcast waiting
eagerly each week for th next installment. sagan had a gift
for making what could otherwise be very dry and boring material
rather engrossing [once you got past his "billions and billions"
thing].

and if you had asked me a just few years ago i certainly would
have had the same impression that nearly all the music was
vangelis.
