Fw: [Mellotronists] Tony Banks in Korg Magazine

Fw: [Mellotronists] Tony Banks in Korg Magazine

2007-10-20 by jonesalley

Full disclosure - although I am a huge Korg fan (eighteen Korgs so far) the Korg magazine is a vehicle for promoting Korg instruments and gear, and I've seen many people somewhat disavow the equipment they are often associated with and offering glowing reviews of one piece of Korg gear or another.  So, I'm not entirely convinced that Tony wasn't just offering some red meat to the Korg people.  Probably got a free OASYS out of the deal...

"You couldn't really write parts on a machine like a Mellotron because
they weren't particularly sophisticated. You tended just to put your
hand on a chord and play..."

You're absolutely right, but I tought it interesteing to read what Banks
was now saying. And yes, I too love Korg, despite the M1 which I hated. :-(

(Mind you, the MicroKorg is a champion)
