new sighting!

new sighting!

2002-08-07 by JS

Just saw a new Levi's Jeans TV commercial - two kids in France, who push their blue two-door '68 Bonneville into the water, after which the boy dives in after it to retrieve his French-English dictionary.
LOADED with what has to be authentic 3-violins, very prominent. A Mellotron bath like I haven't heard in years. Watch for it, you'll love it.
Anybody in the group claim it as their work, or know who it is?

The band is Air. The song is the main song on the Virgin Suicides movie soundtrack, I think it's called "Schoolyard Love" or something like that. They're a French band, which fits the commercial perfectly. The soundtrack album is great, as is their others. They are somewhere in-between T-Dream and Dark Side of the Moon-era Pink Floyd. Check 'em out!

Good stuff. One of my favourite "new" bands. They even manage to get
good press in mags like "Q". Worth checking out. Start with the
soundtrack for "The Virgin Suicides".

That Levi's commercial is perfect. I heard the tron from the other side
of the house and ran all the way to see what was on the boob tube.
