Mellotronists

Just been listening to Witch's Promise ( Jethro Tull ) and Badge ( Cream), anyone know what trons and what voices used, the Tull tron sounds wonderful to me probably the best string sound I have ever heard on a recording, the Cream tron sounds pretty awful but I think it's meant to, I'm assuming it's a Mark II and they are not the standard Mark II strings, I've got some samples in M-tron which are similar, thin sounds with lots of vibrato.

Anyone know? Anyone care?

Badge doesn't feature 3 violins, it's the mandolin sound.
