ASIA

Aloha all,
The wife and I are going to hear ASIA next month in Honolulu.
The current band is touring with my favorite combination of musicians:
John Wetton, lead vocals, piano and bass guitar (King Crimson)
Steve Howe, lead guitar and backing vocals (Yes)
Carl Palmer, drums and percussion (ELP)
Geoff Downes, keyboards and backing vocals (Bugles)
I think their website says Hugh McDonald (ELO) and Steve Cristey (both original Asia members) will be there, but the press kit I ordered does say Howe and Palmer will be touring.
Does anyone know if Downes uses tron and on which tracks???
Should be a great show...and they are headed for Europe after a few days R&R here.
When I first heard their "Heat of the Moment" hit on air I thought it was ELP with a distinct Carl Palmer on drums and Greg Lake on vocals.
Wetton and Lake would be awesome on the same stage.
Thanks...gotta go...headin' for the breakers on North Shore.

Looks like the original line-up to me – lucky you - seeing them there in Hawaii….I saw them on their first tour way back when at the Santa Monica Civic – small enough of a place to be fairly close-up….Good shows – I only remember Greg Lake being part of the group on the over-promo’ed MTV Live from Tokyo gig when Wetton had bailed – can’t remember why…

I've seen them last March here in Brazil; They're in a very good shape and the set list consists of the whole first album+ some from "Alpha" + "Roundbout", "Fanfare for the Common Man" (excellent arrangement);"The Court of the Crimson King" + "Video Killed the Radio Star". Enjoy the show !
