Magnolia

I seem to remember that someone on the list mentioned he had
something to do with the movie "Magnolia". Wasn't that Brian K. ?

I have the video at home at the moment and watched the credits
(even more strenuous than understanding the story) but didn't
recognize anything.

Seen it, very recommendable - note Fiona's Chamberlin (ex-Big Elf, ex-The
Band) playing musical cues during the game show. Note the cameo
appearances
by members of this list...

Brain K knows the director (Paul Thomas Anderson) and gave him an idea for the Tom Cruise part in the move Magnolia. Look closely at the end of the scene where Cruise's character is giving his talk on stage. Brian makes a cameo, going up to shake Cruise's hand after the presentation (look fast). In the credits, the producer thanks him for "the thing" (the idea). Even though none of it was Brian's, I really liked the music in that film (especially the Aimee Mann songs).

Brian is supposed to be doing some of the music for Paul Thomas Anderson's next movie. I think he did something for "Boogie Nights", another PTA film. Brian gets around - I saw him credited at the end of "Zoolander" which I rented recently. He told me he did the "Chinese" version of the song "Relax" in that one.

I liked the film a lot. My wife hated it just as much.

"Members", does that mean we can see other members, beside Brian ?

Yes, I think I have seen that. I rewound the tape and replayed in
slow-motion. That is when the session takes a break for lunch.

Guess I'll have to go through the credits once more ...
