Just Plain Fritz

Just Plain Fritz

2007-01-31 by Jim Anderson

Don't think that I saw it mentioned here (and Fritz is too humble to admit it) but I just noticed that our pal Fritz Doddy recently was awarded third place in the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards for "The Feeling of Far" in the Best Modern Rock Album category. Congrats, Fritz! I've never heard of the bands that finished first and second, but still I'm sure you shoulda won.

And it has lots of mellotron!

After listening to the 1st and 2nd place winners, I have to agree
that Fritz should have won 1st place. The 1st place winner is Just
Plain Boring. The 2nd place winner seems pretty talented, but
there's no ground being broken as in "The Feeling of Far".

Congratulations Fritz!! Another vote for #1!!

Ya know, that's the thing about Jersey. We have such the reputation, but, I choose to live here. We have four seasons, rolling hills, a great seashore, a diverse, proud and respectful population, an artistic community second to none, and political corruption at the State level that will make your ears bleed.

Yes, and his bass player from the E-street band, Gary Talent, grew up and lives in the next town over. Nice guy.... The musical world in Jersey is pretty intimate actually.
