I can hear various 'Tron sounds, including (I think) piano and tubular bells, but if any of you have sharper hearing... >> that very tapeset is here, off-frame for now. we used the split piano/bells (klang with a big k) in our piece "geiger", and now use samples of the tapes if/when we do the piece live. my favourite note is the top c bell, which (like the others) I sampled right to the end. it introduced me to the technique of deliberately playing the "wrong" ends of notes. we have the same piano as a full set, with a plucked piano next to it. try finding that on a record..... on effects; we've used many different reverbs and echoes over the years but the favourite reverb is the alesis microverb. you almost ought to build one into the cabinet. tape echo is best for anything really, but better still use two machines of the same type and at the same speed (...) for wonderful flangey effects on the trails. aye. duncan/r.m.i./400nr1098 (the bells, the bells....)
