Mellotronists

Hi guys - excuse the newbieness of this post, but I've just read
something that I'd like to know more on:

About 2/3 the way down this page, there's a comment made: "Jerry
explained that the other Mellotrons have a built in equalization curve
to brighten up the higher end, but the Mike Pinder preamp does not."

Can you guys enlighten me as to what frequency the EQ curve starts?
Am assuming it'll be a hi-shelf of some sort but am curious to know.

Season's Greetings Dale and Gang,

I don't have the precise freq. curve handy at the moment,
as I'm tending to other matters. Most all Mellotrons follow
a similar tape response curve called , NARTB , approximating
that of cassette recording EQ. Mike Pinder's MK-# 134,
had three bespoke preamps within, so no in-situ EQ was provided.

Tone controls on all British-made older Trons were purely passive EQ,
cutting treble . Interestingly, the 4-Track Mellotron made in
Connecticut, featured three-band active (cut and boost) EQ controls
for each of the four channels (tracks).
