At 4:27 Pinder jumps the gun once again and ends the song early. The rest of the band follows him even though you hear another "You Know its True." Pretty embarrassing. But we all make mistakes, and Mike Pinder's overall brilliance overshadows this poor performance (IMHO). _____ From: Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jim & Janet Strauss Sent: Thursday, September 07, 2006 9:20 PM To: Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Mellotronists] A Question of ...switches?...no FAKE 'Tron here. Thanks guys...I guess that explains Justin's blank space...- a fast recovery attempt on that last verse..that for a moment almost wasn't there. I missed that last screw up Dave..could you elaborate? Frank1...must be nice to have a tron with a pedigree. ----- Original Message ----- From: David Jacques <mailto:djacques@...> To: 'Jim <mailto:Str03@...> & Janet Strauss' ; Mellotronists@ <mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com> yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, September 08, 2006 12:04 AM Subject: RE: [Mellotronists] A Question of ...switches?...no FAKE 'Tron here. What he is trying to do is recover from a MAJOR fuck-up. He thinks the song is ending and forgot about the repeat of the chorus. He plays the string lead out and realizes that he screwed up and tries to recover. He makes another screw-up at the very end. _____ From: Mellotronists@ <mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com> yahoogroups.com [mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jim & Janet Strauss Sent: Thursday, September 07, 2006 7:40 PM To: Mellotronists@ <mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com> yahoogroups.com; Jim & Janet Strauss Subject: Re: [Mellotronists] A Question of ...switches?...no FAKE 'Tron here. So, I was wondering if you 'Tron erudite know what Pinder is trying to do 4:03 minutes into this song... The video clearly shows him starting to play a nice 'tron riff, then after a bit of strings...nothing happens - and he reaches for the controls on the left side of the console and makes some adjustment ...and then finishes the song nicely. On this model...(MKII?) I thought all the stuff on the left was that rhythm and fill stuff...not lead instrument channel selectors ....or did he have to hit the on/off switch? http://www.jyla. <http://www.jyla.nl/MoodyBlues/video/NeverComesTheDay.wmv> nl/MoodyBlues/video/NeverComesTheDay.wmv ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim <mailto:Str03@...> & Janet Strauss To: Mellotronists@ <mailto:Mellotronists@yahoogroups.com> yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2006 9:29 PM Subject: Re: [Mellotronists] Another Moody gem...no FAKE 'Tron here. Well, this video is kinda foggy, and it's B&W...but it least it is a Mellotron (a MkII?) - instead of a Hammond B-3. And it sounds pretty good cranked up. http://www.jyla. <http://www.jyla.nl/MoodyBlues/video/NeverComesTheDay.wmv> nl/MoodyBlues/video/NeverComesTheDay.wmv
