Actually, Phil's site is what finally made up my mind to track one of these
things down. I'd known of them for quite some time, but the sound of the
restored instrument just captivated me.
Here's the kicker. I am going to have to spend a lot of time
researching it, but from what I know so far, the previous owner probably
acquired it from CBS in the mid-seventies, where he worked for years. If
so, it MIGHT be the one that was used for episodes of "The Twilight Zone" and
many other historic programs. Like I said, I need to research this and
with any luck won't find dead ends at every turn and I only have a vague
suspicion with precious little evidence at this time, but on the other hand, I
so far have no refuting evidence. It will be a fascinating
project.
