Think of the children... don't have it or use it myself. i do, however, have a friend that swears by it [www.alon.tv]. i would find it rather scary to rely on a pc or even a mac live on stage. i would, forced to choose, use my sampler [ensoniq asr-10] and the mellotron archives/pinder cdrom. m-tron has been discussed here in the past quite a bit, and if i recall, some do think it works pretty well, although i think there was mention that some of the sources used were somewhat less than the best possible quality [mellotron used or tapes in questionable state], but i could be mistaken on that. the message archives for this group may prove useful to you. feel free to email alon via his website. he's a great guy, loves to discuss music/gear. tell him jeff sent ya. i'm probably getting together with him next week for a couple beers and to see his new studio [he just recently moved and built a new room at his new house]. best, jeff
