Did it look like the pitch control here a little less than halfway down the 
page:

This item came from the factory.  Its use is certainly questionable on a 
Mellotron.

Jack, did you remove this from the EMI, or is it still there?  I don't 
recall if I left it in the machine when I got the machine running.
