I agree 100% with Mark. Having used the "Pinder" rom to create *sampletron* for "Under Oriental Skies" & "The Boy Who Gazed At Stars" [on the Systems Theory "Demos 1999-2000" CD] I must conclude that a 22khz was the right choice, given the audio fidelity of the original sounds. 3 violins, mixed brass and 8 voice choir were my sample choices IIRC. By the time the 22khz samples are effected [ie. with lush reverb as I did on "UOS"] a 44khz sample would have bought nothing extra. Of course, we are replacing the *sampletron* with the real thing [by Mr. Dickson] for the real album... YMMV :-) -- Cheers SDM -- a 21st century schizoid man www.systemstheory.net www.thecleanersystem.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "mark kasian" <easle12@...> To: "Joachim Verghese" <jocke@...>; <mellotronists@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2002 2:39 PM Subject: Re: [Mellotronists] Re: Sample source (fwd) > ....and considering the amount of space on a CD for > these full keyboard, full 8 second samples, which > sounds would you sacrifice for the bandwidth required > for sound that doesn't exist?
