My MK VI #019 was assembled over four years ago.  Markus Resch has 
made a number of improvements to the preamplifier.  I recently 
shipped my preamp to Stockholm for upgrades.
 
The preamp design was improved several years ago, to better match the 
low impedance heads.  In addition to other innovative design changes, 
the tone control was changed to provide a larger adjustment range.

MK VI #019 was down for about a week, while the preamp was on holiday 
in Stockholm.  I wired up the preamp yesterday.

Did I notice much of an improvement?  Yes.  The new preamp 
arrangement is very quiet.  The old preamp was relatively quiet, but 
this new design is quiet even at wide open gain.  (My amp goes to 
eleven!!!)    Markus has worked hard to minimize the noise level of 
this new preamp version.
