Depends on whether he's trying to pass it off as a product of the 
Mellotron factory I think, and probably also dependent on whether it 
was done as a one-off by a "whittler" or a production item for 
commercial sale.  He's only describing it as a replica cabinet, and 
there would be nothing illegal in that, nor would there be anything 
illegal in selling one of those replica Ferraris unless you try and 
pass it off as a real one.

Are there not rules on eBay about selling counterfeit goods?
