Hey Ches I saw Steve at a free show in San Francisco. It was GREAT! Glad, freedom rider, low spark, pearly queen, rain maker, presence of the lord. Only two new tunes were played which were both good. His album, which I listened to in the music store, is not another pop record at all. Lots of Hammond (no tron - sorry) but I did not buy it right then and there however. Regardless, the two tunes that he has been playing live (see his web site for set lists) are the "good" ones. I actually like the tune "different light" I think its called and I've been pretty critical of some of his stuff in the last 10 - 15 years. Classic Stevie Hammond playing on this tune if you get to hear it. He's coming back here in September and I am definitely going. At one point during the show I saw in May it got REAl psychedelic! He was (they were) jammin'. It was great! I say GO! Especially if it is a small venue! I think when you see the full show (the free one I saw was an hour) the longer set lists include some more Blind Faith etc. It's on the set list section of the site. Check it out! Anyone keep up with Mr. Winwood? I wonder if it's worth going? Ches To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: Mellotronists-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com Your use of Yahoo!
