<<I lost a STUDER A80 1/4" 2 Track Recorder many years back. I would like to get another one. Does anyone have an idea what one in great shape would be worth?>> clay, that was a bit careless.... I have an 810 that I retrieved from the jaws of a skip (dumpster) at work- maybe 100 hours on the thing. of all of my revoxes, uhers and studers, it's the best. closely followed by my c274. the 810 crops up from time to time on ebay, more often than the 80, but expect to pay in the order of $2k for a decent one. it's one of the few 1/4" decks to have held it's value, along with the stereo nagras. a mate of mine is looking to shift a t-audio (nagra) w/ all the bells&whistles; is this something that would be of interest? again, you'd be into 4 figures. if it's just an archive machine you're after, there are plenty of a77s and b77s to be had. I have a b77mk2HS sat here doing nowt, and I accumulated it rather than collected it (I'm more of a fan of willi's 1970s designs, so I have a lot of a-series machines). or did you especially want an a80 for some reason? I picked up a tony levin live album- bruford/levin upper extremities, it's called. very entertaining- david torn's on there aswell, and the tour diary (by levin) is a hoot. d/m400nr1098
