pendantic pindertron question

2003-04-05 by David Davis

Here y'all,
 I have a very pedantic question for you,
to sort the men from the boyz ...

Here at FelineHQ, we're presently trying to delude
ourselves into the notion that we have a Real Mellotron
by transferring the contents of Mike Pinder's Mellotron
Sample CD into the cavernous recesses of our Akai MPC4000's
hard drive...
 ~~~ANYWAY~~~
Sound bank "21" on the Pindertron CD
(folder folder "E/FOXTROT+SAX_") is called
"Fox Trot: Sax Phrases" on the sleevenotes,
 and claims to be one of the Mellotron MkII Rhythms &
Fills.
~~~HOWEVER~~~
If I look at the list of MkI and MkII fills on
David Kean's page at http://www.mellotron.com/mkiirsfs.htm
I don't quite see a MkII fill fitting the description
of 'Foxtrot + Sax phrases' ...

There's:
MkII fills -  "Quickstep/Saxophone"
and MkI fills - "Foxtrot/Saxophone"

So, my utterly pedantic question is ...

 ... is the sound bank on the Mike Pinder CD
 actually
(i)a Mk.I "foxtrot/saxophone"? or
(ii) is it the Mk.II "Quickstep/saxophone" with
the wrong name? or
(iii) are they both the same anyways?

I'll get my coat...
DAVID
