For my part. What I love and wouldn't trade for anything is the uncertain nature of "that" sound. The slight variations in pitch. Tapes with small glitches. A keyboard which seems to vary the sound slightly depending on the feel of the player, is to me what the tron is all about. The problem with samplers is that each note performance is identical to the next. Even a simulation of the tron's idiosyncrasies will still be a simulation and therefore wholly predictable.
