Mellotronists

Hi Martin,

Ah-ha! Being new to the group I was hoping to find out what resources are
out there. I was wondering if I could politely ask to be brought up to
speed.

I am wondering what the current status is of mellotron.com in Canada, and
Dave Kean et al. I've worked with him before (both in person and remotely)
and the experiences were good ones. Could somebody please bring me up to
speed? (hey it that a tape transport joke?)

I see now the Streetly offerings, and as a user/owner/maintainer I am of
course happy to see another resource (the original one, it seems). What is
the "big picture", these days? I've been a lone wolf for so long.

Naturally I don't want to become a source of Mellotron parts if said parts
are available through an official business. Money where money is due, I say.
Here's the deal: I work for a company. We make machines. They go into boxes
made of metal. We use a metal house. In a casual conversation with our mech.
eng. who does all the drawings, I asked him if there were any bits of metal
laying about. He asked me what the heck I was after. I told him and he said
he could probably whip out a couple for free (being that they are rather
simple to make). I thought that I would look a gift horse in the mouth and
get a few rather than a couple. However if I get too bold the metal house
will probably make it a "job" with setup fees and all that. Don't wanna go
there, been there, done that :)

Anyway thanks for the pointer, and now I guess I have some web surfing to
do...
