Hi Jon,

The MKII has a very bright sound when taken directly from the preamp and the 
original MKII Violins are much brighter than the M400 docttored violins 
despite them being the same takes.  HOWEVER, Mike Pinder decidede to roll off 
the top end almost completely to achieve the smooth lush sound of the Moodies 
albums.  It's just an eq trick and not a lot else.  The Moodies would have 
sounded like Spring or KC had he left the sound as is.
