Mellotronists

Re: the currently postings on Mike Pinder's Mellotrons, it's both interesting 
and a source of mild amusement to hear different people's account of the same 
events, particularly considering that we often have the same basic resources 
(i.e., Mike himself).  This in no way is intended to ruffle anyone's 
feathers, but is anything definitive when it comes to Mellotrons (except play 
them every day, keeping a screwdriver handy - not only the mechanical but the 
liquid kind as well)?  Was it God's intent that they would forever be 
shrouded in mystery? Will we ever get the story straight (Lord knows I tried 
- LOL)?

BTW, kudos to Ken Merbler for his excellent and detailed account (ordeal?) of 
changing tapes in a MkII.
