Hello all,
I've got a request from someone who is trying to play the Pinder CDROM
samples in his sampler, but can't seem to do it.
He' got an EMU ESI 2000 sampler with a SCSI CDROM drive attached. The
Pinder CDR is in the AKAI format, and he says that his sampler can't read it.
Now he's trying to read the CDR files on his PC's CD drive, but the disk
appears empty to the PC (this doesn't surprise me - AKAI is not a PC
compatible format like WAV or MP3, I don't think).
So, the question is - how can he get the EMU sampler to read in the
Pinder Mellotron samples? Is there a conversion utility available which
converts from the AKAI format to a format the ESI 2000 will recognize and
read?
I've got a Kurzweil 2600, and it reads the Pinder CDR just fine, even
though it is in the AKAI and not Kurzweil format..
I know that there are some people on our list who use this EMU sampler,
and many others on the list who use the Pinder CDR. Any suggestions? Our
friend says his band is "chomping at the bit" to use the Mellotron samples.
Thanks.
