Hi Harry,
It was about a $100 New Zealand, you can download a demo version, which means that you'll be able to install M-tron play and record it, you can export to mp3 or wave but you can't save your session to edit again later unless you pay for it. I am not very well up on this sort of thing but FL studio is easy to use. Using the reverb and equaliser you can get some very nice tron sounds using M-tron. It isn't as much fun or sound as good as a real tron but it's a lot cheaper!
Mark
PS The new mellotron group at newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com is a lot more active but I wouldn't mention M-tron too much there!

No experience using minihost but I think that could be your problem. I can run M-tron within FL Studio with no problems, if you are looking for a free program that can host M-tron I would recommend Madtracker.

Hi All I have the Gmedia M-tron and can't seem to get it going on my computer with Windows XP. I have downloaded the Minihost VST engine and have ASIO4ALL driver. The keyboards appears but I can't get any sounds. Any ideas? Tnx.
